Parent Outreach

The LOCC Parent Committee develops opportunities for parental and community engagement to create a caring community where our youth are substance free and are safe, health and able to reach their full potential.

Parent Outreach Volunteer Opportunities

Assist with activities that promote parental involvement such as

  • Back to School Registrations/Orientations
  • Distribute parent surveys
  • Encourage parents to sign up for LOCC’s listserve

Assist with getting parents together to help identify community needs and issues (i.e. neighborhood parent meetings, focus groups, etc.)

Help plan the distribution of information to parents and students (i.e. schools, church, community events)

Serve as a conduit for getting information back to the schools and your school’s PTA.

Parent Outreach Volunteers will work closely with the LOCC Parent Committee and the LOCC Coordinator.

Time Commitment

  • Tailored to meet your needs. Opportunities range from 2 hours a week to 15 hours a month or only one activity a year.
  • Encourage to attend coalition meetings, as requested.
  • At least one year commitment.

Qualifications

  • Supports coalition vision, mission and goals.
  • Working or residing in the Lexington School District One area.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with others.
